Extraordinary late 19th.c. Indian wall bracket c.1880. With a shaped shelf supported on the backs of three beautifully observed Indian elephants dressed and decorated for festival. Against a carved and pierced ground depicting tigers, peacocks and hunting dogs amongst exotic foliage. Over three shaped arch forms borrowed from Indian temple architecture. Good condition, original through. Left dry and unwaxed.
